For healthy skin and good overall health:
Drink room temperature water- in general, 6-8 glasses. Cold water decreases stomach temperature and does not enhance digestive fire. Your body is 70% water. The extra will make the skin look hydrated, plump and youthful looking. 2 large glasses upon awakening with a little bit of freshly squeezed lemon or lime is cleansing and very good for the body. Ideally water should be ingested 1/2 hour before meals, very little during meals and about 1 hour after a meal. Flooding the meal with water dilutes the digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid that is needed to digest the food. Drink filtered water. Be aware of water that has been sitting in a plastic bottle in the sun. Chemicals in the plastic are most likely melting into the water. Try to use stainless steel water bottles or reusable hard plastic bottles, as they are more eco-friendly. This tip is courtesy of Soya Lee.
