Hey Slice! Thanks for that! I remember a fresh moment...when I was touring in Europe for my "Toys of Vanity" CD and my friend Joyce Lapinsky who is now the Urban Farming Program Development Consultant, was with me on that tour. When we landed in Milan, Italy, we sat down at a restaurant to eat lunch. They brought out some Tomato wedges as a starter. We took one bite into the tomatoes and looked at each other in amazement... almost like we had never tasted a tomato before. Truth is, we had never had a tomato that had EVER tasted so good! It was like candy. Unbelievable! Next we tried the broccoli- same thing. The vegetables there were out of this world- so fresh, full of taste and like some sort of a dessert. We found out that they don't use any pesticides over there... humm? What do you know about that? Moments of culinary delight in Italy are some of my best "FRESH" moments! Slice- Post some pics of your garden! You have become a master- show us!! By the way, I hope to see you in LA on the 10th of May at the Home Depot on Sunset, 12 Noon. We are having yet another of the famous "Urban Farming Mother's Day Free Plant Giveaways"- helping people start their own gardens!! See you there! Peace, Taja

I have heard this from SEVERAL people I have shared produce with. Whats funnier, is the opposite happen to me. I came from the country where we raised veggies, chickens, pigs, cows, and we dabbled in aquaculture (fish). When I moved to a suburb of Tampa, I didn't recognized the taste of what I was eating. I scoured for farmers markets, which helped me adapt. But 3 years ago (4 years after I moved here). I have been able to re-identify what was good about home grown. I have my own vegetable garden, and my kids are learning to eat as I did.
