At Urban Farming, we are "Creating an Abundance of Food For All in Our Generation," and that endeavor requires our human family to join hands and work together to create a world in which we exercise compassion for each other. We have started this quest by installing and helping others to install or plant gardens, and by encouraging others to start their own gardens and join the Urban Farming Global Food Chain. But there are many other areas that need attention, and as such, this section titled Healthy Finances is an important part of the equation. When we develop healthy economic growth in cities, states and countries, opportunity is increased. In Africa, where there are many people who have added their gardens to the Urban Farming Global Map, there remains a persistent challenge: A dire need for infrastructure. In 2009 the World Bank and major donors estimated that Africa needed $93 Billion per year to fill the infrastructure gap. Since then, money has gone into building Africa's infrastructure, and the article below analyzes "...how the main sources of infrastructure financing have evolved over the last eight years, the distribution of that financing by country and sector, and how financing efforts have responded to the recommendations made in 2009."
